Back in April, while our own "man on the road" John Krakoff was doing his "roadgeeking", he found 2 new roundabouts on GA 5 in Carroll and Douglas Counties.

Being the die-hard roadgeek that he is, John took several photos and sent them to Adam Prince. Adam asked me if I could use them and I definitely and gratefully accepted his offer. Thanks to John and Adam, I now introduce to you our newest special feature page. Please click here to see it.

This is yet another excellent example of roadgeeks working together, and my hat is off to John and Adam for their contributions and support.

Adam is a co-webmaster of the mega-roadgeek site Gribble Nation (GN), which features a massive gallery of roadgeek photos (including tons of Georgia pics) and various and sundry special feature pages of its own. If you have not visited the GN site, then please do so. I think you'll enjoy it as much as I do. Please also visit Adam's blogsite "Sure, Why Not?". I highly recommend each of these sites to you and hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

That's it for now. Thanks again for visiting and please do so often.

I like roundabouts. There are at least two near where I live. These two are just behind the Camp Creek MarketPlace, in southwest Atlanta. There is another on North Decatur Road, just before reaching Emory University.

I didn't used to be a fan of roundabouts, but seeing how completely stupid people drive around here, I'm becoming more and more in favor of them. Yes you can get in a wreck in one when people fail to yield, but a sideswipe or rear-ender vs. a t-bone is quite a dramatic difference and far less painful, expensive and potentially fatal. In fact, I would advocate at this point making major intersections roundabouts. Look, we're not going to have any new roads anymore in Atlanta obviously, so we might as well find ways to make it a little more bearable. Wanna start with Hwy. 120? UGH!

I've driven through the aforementioned roundabout twice--once before reading this blog and once after reading this blog. I also encountered a roundabout at the junction of SR 16/US 27 Alt. and SR 5, in Whiteburg. It was of a lower quality than the one at the junction of SR 5 and SR 166.
