Late this afternoon, we finally got back home from our weeklong Florida vacation and roadtrip, and I am happy to report the following major "roadgeek accomplishments"...

- Interstates "clinched": I-75, I-95, I-175, I-275, and I-375.

- New "clinched" counties (in order "clinched"): Manatee, Sarasota, DeSoto, Charlotte, Lee, Collier, Broward, Miami-Dade, Monroe, Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River, and Osceola.

- Driven all of I-4 from SR 528 Toll (Beachline Expressway) in Orlando to its western end at I-275 in Tampa.

- Drove the
Sunshine Skyway for the first time... and filmed it for a future "ROADGEEK-CAM!!!" episode.

- Drove the Overseas Highway (US 1) from the mainland to Mile 0 in Key West. See parts of it on
this episode of ROADGEEK-CAM!!!

We didn't just go to Florida to do roadgeek things, so here's the list of what we saw (and enjoyed)...

- Mary's old neighborhood and high school in Sarasota.
- The
Edison/Ford Winter Estates in Fort Myers.
- Sunset and the
Key West Catman's Show at Mallory Square.
- Ate a "Cheeseburger In Paradise" and conch fritters at
Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville.
- Toured
Harry S. Truman's Little White House.
- Toured
Ernest Hemingway's house and saw the famous six-toed cats.
- Visited the Key West Cemetery.
- Toured
Kennedy Space Center and visited "I Dream Of Jeannie Lane" in Cocoa Beach.

While at the Kennedy Space Center, I rode the new Shuttle Launch Experience ride, and it did feel just like you were actually taking off in the space shuttle from the launchpad, G-forces and all. It was a total rush and I highly recommend it.

Mary and I also visited her parents, sister and nieces in Lakeland, plus enjoyed some really wonderful romantic evening "beach time" on both the Atlantic Ocean in Cocoa Beach and the Gulf of Mexico in Treasure Island (just west of St. Petersburg).

We both took several photos and I'll feature some of them on the website in the near future.

That's it for now. Thanks for reading and please come back often.
