"I'm on the Highway To Hell..." -- AC/DC

Could this be Florida's own "Highway To Hell"?

OK, maybe not, but I admit that I was so intrigued by this sign I found in Madeira Beach, that I decided to pull over at the Hess station where this sign was located and snap a "roadgeek photo".

Actually, Florida State Road 666 is the Stuart-Welch Causeway, which runs from Madeira Beach to US 19 Alternate, and yes, we traveled this satanically-numbered route on our way to clinch the Tampa Bay area interstates and Sunshine Skyway.

Since I've seen enough computers this week since getting back to work from vacation (I work in IT BTW), I'm making this a short blog and will spend the rest of the weekend doing anything but computers, so this is it for now.

Hope y'all enjoyed reading this brief blog, thanks for doing so, and please come back again.

State Road 666 is not far from where I am. I am surprised as to how well signed the route is, given the numbers reputation. For me, I've always liked the repeating numbers, so 666 works as well as Florida 111 in Jacksonville or Florida 222 north of Gainesville. My favorite is barely signed, that being Polk County 555 on its short alignment north of U.S. 17 & 92 (Florida 555 is a hidden designation for U.S. 17 south of the split).
