Tomorrow (Saturday, 9/8/2007) at 5 PM Eastern Daylight Time, I will be hosting my own roadgeek talk show on BlogTalkRadio.com. Here is the URL...

http://www.blogtalkradio.com/georgiaroadgeek

The show will be 30 minutes long and, during that time, you will have the opportunity to call into the show and talk to me live. I look forward to talking to you and thank you in advance for doing so.

In other road-related news, Cobb County is considering construction of roundabouts on Villa Rica Road in the western part of the county. Please click here to read about it in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Will roundabouts be a good solution to traffic woes? I don't know, but they are definitely worth a try and I applaud state and local transportation officials for planning and implementing this solution in such locales as Douglas County, Dawson County, and the Emory University area of DeKalb County. What are your thoughts on roundabouts and your experiences (good or bad) with them? Please feel free to share them either here on this blog or on my radio show.

On the ham radio front, I purchased a new Yaesu FT-7800R dual band (2m/70 cm) mobile rig from Ham Radio Outlet (HRO). Thanks to HRO's David for his help in letting me check it out (not to mention the wonderful conversation we had about our North Georgia College days). Once I got it installed in the truck, I tested it out by talking to my fellow hams Sophia and Arnold on the Atlanta Radio Club's (ARC) repeater (146.82 MHz). Both of these wonderful hams, whom I talk to frequently during the drive home from my "real job", were a big help and I appreciate it very, very much.

Again, my radio talk show will be tomorrow from 5 - 5:30 PM and I'd love to hear from you during that time. If you are a ham and are in the Atlanta area, then please give me a shout on the ARC repeater (callsign KC4AZO).

That's it for now. Thanks for reading and please visit often.

P.S. To fellow ham Emory at GDOT: Thanks for reading my blogs and for your kind words.
