My Roadtrippin' Playlist

This morning, I took my
iTunes collection of songs and added some more to my "Roadgeek" playlist.
My playlist includes a lot of my favorites from over the years and is a somewhat eclectic mix, including (but not limited to) classic rock, classic country, and some "cheesy 70's". All the songs are about the road or otherwise just ones I find make good "roadtrippin'" music. I've even burned them to an audio CD so that I can take them on our trips down to Florida (or wherever we may venture).
Here's the current list of "The Georgia Road Geek's Roadtrippin' Playlist"...
All Roads Lead To You - Steve Wariner
American Pie - Don McLean
Carefree Highway - Gordon Lightfoot
City of New Orleans - Arlo Guthrie
Convoy - C.W. McCall
East Bound and Down (from "Smokey and the Bandit") - Jerry Reed
Eighteen Wheels and a Dozen Roses - Kathy Mattea
Foreplay/Long Time - Boston
Hot Rod Lincoln - Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen
I'm A Drifter - Bobby Goldsboro
Me and You and a Dog Named Boo - Lobo
King of the Road - Roger Miller
Life's Highway - Steve Wariner
Life Is A Highway - Tom Cochrane (Rascal Flatts remade this for the movie "Cars".)
Mama Hated Diesels (Live) - Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen (C.C. Slater, a.k.a. "Comrade Otto Yamamoto", turned me onto this one.)
My Maria - B.W. Stevenson (Most folks probably know the Brooks and Dunn version from 1996.)
Six Days On The Road - Dave Dudley (Most folks probably know the Sawyer Brown version.)
Stuck In The Middle With You - Stealers Wheel (featuring Gerry Rafferty of "Baker Street" fame.)
Sweet Home Alabama - Lynyrd Skynyrd
Take Me Home, Country Roads - John Denver (the only one of his songs I liked)
Ventura Highway - America
When I get some others added, I'll let y'all know. In the meantime, what are some of your favorites that I may not have listed here? Please feel free to share it by either posting a comment or e-mailing me at

That's it for now. Thanks always for reading and please come back often.
