Only southbound 400 traffic will have direct access to Hammond Drive, and the entrance ramp from Hammond to 400 will only be for the northbound lanes. Please click here to see the GDOT plans.
What I do not see, however, in these plans is any improvement to Hammond Drive westbound from 400 to Roswell Road (GA 9). Will GDOT and the Perimeter Community Improvement District finance future improvements to Hammond to accomodate the extra traffic that will be generated? Also, what about potential improvements to (and potential increased traffic volumes on) Barfield Road, which runs parallel to 400 from Abernathy to Hammond?
As for a potential exit number, I assume that the new Hammond Drive exit will be labeled "Exit 4C" since it's closest to Exit 4B (I-285 West/US 19 South).
Do you have any thoughts on this matter? If so, then please feel free to share them and thanks in advance for doing so.
That's it for now. Thanks for reading and please visit often.

It might be a good idea, but in the interim it would cause more congestion to an already congested freeway. Reply to this
