Here in the Eastern Time Zone, we are just mere hours away from 2008.
Roadwise, it has been a good year and here's what I have accomplished in 2007...
- Clinched 2 more Georgia counties (Paulding and Brooks).
- Clinched 1 more Alabama county (Jackson).
- Clinched 16 more Florida counties (Manatee, Sarasota, DeSoto, Charlotte, Lee, Collier, Broward, Miami-Dade, Monroe, Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River, Osceola, Highlands, and Hardee).
- Clinched 2 more Tennessee counties (Marion and Sequatchie).
- Clinched all of I-75, I-95, I-175, I-275, and I-375 in Florida.
- Clinched all of I-24 and I-59 in Georgia.
- Clinched all of I-124 in Tennessee.
- Driven more of I-24 in Tennessee (from I-75 to TN SSR 156).
- Driven more of I-4 in Florida (from I-275 to the Beachline Expressway/FL Toll 528).
- Visited the "Camak Stone" (intersecting point of GA, AL, and TN borders).
- Shot, produced, and published tons more "ROADGEEK-CAM!!!", including Tennessee footage.
- Created an Internet radio talkshow on BlogTalkRadio (which I will be cranking back up soon).
- Added "video messages" on YouTube.
- Added a new Georgia County Route Sign Gallery, thanks to the major contributions of photos received from John Krakoff. (Thanks again, John, for all your help.)
- Interviewed by Georgia Trend magazine for a future article.
- "ROADGEEK-CAM!!!" Polk Parkway video featured on the Lakeland Ledger website.
On the personal front, Mary (my biggest fan, supporter, and best friend in the whole wide world) and I celebrated over 4 years of martial bliss. Mary, thank you for everything, sweetie!!!

The only "downer" of 2007 was the death of Mary's father ("Daddy Charlie"), but we know that he is at peace and in a much better place.
This blog and website has been a "labor of love" and for the past 2 years, I have been absolutely amazed by the readership that I have amassed from both roadgeeks and non-roadgeeks alike. I can never thank y'all enough for the support you have shown and for the various comments you have contributed to the blog.
That's it for 2007. Thank you again for all your support and I hope that you will continue to visit "The Georgia Road Geek" during 2008 and the years to come.
God bless y'all and may you and yours have a very happy and safe New Year.
