For the longest time, Alex "Roaddog" Nitzman of AARoads has been promising me that he will get his older Georgia road videos on the net. After getting the equipment to convert his videotapes to DVD, he was able to do so and uploaded them to his YouTube site. Here's one of his videos from January 6, 1996...

Also this week, I got myself an internet phone and set up a Skype account (user name: georgiaroadgeek).

After I installed Skype and the new phone this morning, I decided to see if anyone I recognized was on Skype. Well, lo and behold, Kevin Inscoe of The Morning Report was a Skype user, so I gave him a buzz.

With Kevin's help and some patience on both our parts, I was able to adjust the phone in Skype and we had a wonderful conversation regarding everything from Internet phones, trains, and, of course, roads. Kevin claims to be a "road nerd" as opposed to a "roadgeek", but as far as I'm concerned, there's plenty of room in the road enthusiast world for all levels of road enthusiasm. Perhaps some of you who have read my blogs have discovered your own "inner-road nerd" or "inner-roadgeek". If my blog helped you do so, then that is wonderful.

The Georgia Carnival has just published it's 30th edition via the blogsite Georgia On My Mind and they have again featured one of my blogs. To read the various and sundry featured blogs on the latest carnival, please click here.

And finally, some sad news in the world of hot-rodding...

Boyd Coddington, who many may know from the Discovery/TLC series "American Hot Rod", had passed away this week in California. I enjoyed watching him and his crew make some really neat hot rods and was saddened to hear of his passing. Please keep Mr. Coddington's family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.

Thanks to Alex for sharing his classic videos, Kevin for helping me adjust my Skype, and to "Elementary History Teacher" for featuring my blog in the Georgia Carnival.

That's it for now. Thank you always for reading and please come back again.
