Just this past week, as I was driving through Chamblee on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard (GA 141), I noticed that I was no longer driving on Peachtree Industrial.HUH?!!!
Over the past week or so, DeKalb County has been replacing street signs along this stretch of GA 141 with their newest design. Their new design puts the street's suffix (Street, Drive, Boulevard, etc.) in smaller size letters in the lower right hand corner of the sign. As soon as I get a chance, I'll snap a picture and post it for y'all.
So what happed to Peachtree Industrial Boulevard?
Within the city limits of Chamblee, someone apparently decided to drop the word "Industrial" from the street name, making GA 141 simply "Peachtree Boulevard".
At first, I thought that the name alteration was going to apply all across the entire length of "PIB", but fear not, y'all. "PIB" is still "PIB" as you head toward I-285, Norcross, and eventually Sugar Hill in north Gwinnett County. (At least I think so. If you've noticed any name change along PIB in that area, then please let me know. Thanks.)
GA 141, from Chamblee southward toward its end at US 19/GA 9 (Roswell Road) at the "Buckhead Split", GA 141 becomes simply "Peachtree Road". From Buckhead to Midtown, Peachtree Road is US 19/GA 9, and eventually, Peachtree Road becomes Peachtree Street once you cross over I-85 near the Brookwood Amtrak station.
That's it for now. Thanks for reading, enjoy the rest of your weekend, and please come back again.
P.S. "FreewayJim", sorry about the lightning strike on your house. I'm glad you and your family are OK.

Maybe it's an error. I know on US-29 south, in College Park, there is a sign that reads "Fayetteville Road" once one comes up on SR 279 South/Herschel Road. The sign should just read, "Fayetteville."
Glad to hear that you and yours are okay, too, FwyJim. Reply to this
